HMH TRADE JOB DESCRIPTION for National Account Manager (Ingram & B&T): Will actively present, maintain and service all HMH Trade titles and all client publishers to Ingram, Overdrive, and HMH Young Reader’s titles and children’s client publishers to Baker & Taylor. Position will work with HMH publishers, marketing, publicity, inventory and sales to position existing and future titles and projects at these accounts. A focus on creative and extensive long range promotional planning at the retail and institutional level is required, incorporating the HMH calendar of offers and incremental coop opportunities to drive the best possible sales results at the end user level. The position will have significant input into the development of the annual calendar of offers in order to ensure the best possible level of successful adoption and incremental business at the account level. Working closely with marketing staff both internally at HMH and externally at the customer level, this role will envision, drive and execute sales and marketing strategies for new and backlist titles to meet budgeted sales goals to maximize sales growth through these accounts. Will develop successful relationships within the accounts and will communicate account information, business trends, and new opportunities as they relate to appropriate HMH imprints or departments. Will provide regular and weekly forecasting on new and backlist titles where required, and will participate in meetings throughout the HMH publishing process. Must have excellent title presentation skills, and the ability to manage complex account technology successfully to respond appropriately and accurately to account needs and schedules. Representative must have an understanding of publishing functions and roles. The ability to meet deadlines, schedule workloads, make high level presentations to large groups, and to communicate concisely and accurately are all essential for this position. Will represent HMH with the highest professional, ethical, and customer-oriented conduct in all interactions.
