OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:

The Regional Director of Field Marketing, reporting to the VP of Field Marketing, is responsible for leading an Area Team (West) to develop and execute campaigns and pipeline to support Sales. The Regional Director has a team and is responsible for managing their workflow as well as directing their development in marketing best practices.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Areas of Responsibility:

Marketing Demand/ Creation Strategy:

* Create, manage and execute their marketing programs including but not limited to in-person and virtual events, direct marketing, and agreed to transactional sales support including support for local RFP, bid, questionnaires, and response requests of their assigned regions.
* Ensure the use and adoption of the key corporate campaigns, promotions, and launches in support of generating pipeline and revenue for sales.
* Develop, monitor and guide the implementation of marketing and promotional plans as appropriate for regional field sales needs. Make recommendations for course correct on annual plans based on effectiveness.
* Plan and ensure the effective implementation of all strategic marketing communications in their group.
* Act as liaison for Sales, Product Management, Product Marketing, & Corporate Marketing.
* Guide Sales and their Field Marketing team in the transfer of the strategy to tactical and operational execution.

Business Analysis:

* Manage and monitor effectiveness of marketing and promotional campaigns to grow sales pipeline and revenue.
* Use quantitative data and qualitative analysis.
* Oversees regional field marketing budget and ensure allocation of funds across the local marketing mix.

Communication and Supervision:

* Maintain strong, ongoing channels of communication with Sales Force, Corporate Marketing, Product Management and Strategy, Product Marketing, Editorial, and other internal departments.
* Lead their team to execute marketing plans and promotional campaigns
* Lead team of up to 5. Review and assess staff.

Location of position:

This position can be anywhere in the Western region as it is a field based position.

Requirements
*
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s Degree required;

*
PREFERRED: MBA or Masters --preferably in the content area or in business management or marketing

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

*
5-10 years managerial experience in an educational publishing or product management organization.

*
Experience in editorial, sales, consulting, or teaching in the content area.

*
Experience in an entrepreneurial or start-up environment.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Superior verbal and written communication skills; superior presentation skills.

Superior inter-personal skills with all levels of organization.

Conceptual and analytical thinking; vision; leadership & management; prioritization; collaboration; decision-making; negotiation; problem-solving; tactical execution; product & market knowledge; functional & computer proficiency.
